About Rentive
Rentive is a Canadian rental platform that flips the process around: renters create one profile, and landlords send offers when there's a fit.
For renters
Tell us your budget, the areas you want to live in, your lifestyle, and nearly anything else that matters to you in a home. It takes a few minutes, and it replaces filling out the same application over and over for every listing.
Rentive matches your profile with properties that fit your budget, preferred areas, lifestyle, and lease timing. You can adjust what matters most so your matches reflect what you actually want. No one has to trawl through listings; we do that for you.
When a landlord sees a good fit, they send you an offer. Each landlord only gets to send a handful, so an offer actually means something. And you can see at a glance which landlords have verified their identity.
Accept it, pass on it, or message back with questions. Accepting just opens a conversation, it is not a commitment to sign. Every offer has a clear time window, so you always know where you stand, and the signing, rental agreements, and everything else are left up to you.
For landlords
Add your place once. You immediately get a ranked list of renters who fit your property based on the things that matter most to you.
Care about a quiet household, a long lease, or no smoking? You decide how much each factor counts, and your matches re-rank around your priorities. The match score is plain math you can tune, never an AI black box.
Verifying your identity is optional, but it is worth it: it adds an "Identity verified" badge that renters trust, while landlords who skip it show up as unverified. It takes a minute or two through Stripe, and your ID details never touch our servers.
Reach out to the renters you actually want and start talking today. An offer simply opens a conversation, never a commitment to sign, and everything after that is yours to run. Offers are limited on purpose so they matter to both sides.
If you have rented recently, you know the drill. You find a listing, fill out an application, sometimes pay a fee just to be considered, and then you wait. A lot of the time, you never hear back at all. Then you do it again, retyping the same details, competing against people you will never meet, with no real way of knowing if the listing or the landlord is even real.
It is not much better for landlords. They get buried in half-finished, mismatched applications and burn hours chasing people who were never going to be the right fit. Everybody loses time, and the loudest applicant tends to win out over the best one.
We realized the whole thing was pointed the wrong way, so we turned it around. On Rentive, you tell your story once and landlords come to you.
Rentive is just getting started. We are a young Canadian company starting in Victoria, BC, then expanding city by city based on demand.

Verified landlords, clearly marked
The most common rental scam is a fake listing that collects deposits and then disappears. Landlords can verify their identity with a government ID, and you always see who has: verified landlords carry a badge, unverified ones are clearly flagged, and we warn you before you accept an offer from anyone who hasn't verified.
We make the introduction, then step back
Our job is to connect well-matched renters and landlords and give them a place to start talking. We focus on finding you the best match possible. It keeps us honest about what we do, and it keeps you in control of the parts that matter.
Rentive runs on the same trusted, industry standard providers that thousands of companies rely on every day. Each has a strong track record for keeping data safe.
Your data is encrypted in transit, and we only ever ask for what we actually need to make a good match.
Building a profile only takes a few minutes, and right now Rentive is free for everyone.
